The winners of the December 2008 hat
contest are:
$75.00 worth of yarn goes to May Robinson of Turner,
Maine $50.00 worth of knitting books goes to Sharon Baker of Northwood,
Ohio New Punchcard punch and package of blank cards goes to
Rebecca Townsend of Edgecomb, Maine
1st Prize Hat by May Robinson

2nd Prize Hat by Sharon Baker

3rd Prize Hat by Rebecca Townsend

The judges had a time picking winners (say nothing about a hard
time getting here with all the bad weather we have been having). I
hope the winners enjoy their prizes.
We will be having this contest
next year, prizes to be announced later. You have a year to get your hats to
me. Hopefully we'll see lots more participation. All hats will be donated to
the needy whether it be at the schools or at homeless shelters so all sizes
and colors can be sent. They will be greatly appreciated.
Next year's deadline will be December 1st.
This is what I would like
to do. I am challenging you to knit up some hats. They don't have to
be your own original pattern. Make them colorful, make them plain, make
them however you desire. Any style, shape or color. I do recommend
acrylic yarn so they can be washed and dried easily. Enter as many hats as
you would like. They can be hand knit, machine knit, crocheted, whatever
method you like.
Send them to:
Country Knitting OF Maine
351 White Schoolhouse Rd
Madison, ME 04950-3202
Make sure that you attach a piece of paper to your hat with your name,
address, phone number and email address if you have one. Hats need to be
received here no later then December 1, 2009.
This is for News & Views Subscribers only. It isn't too late to
subscribe and get it on the fun.
