To Anyone That Knits or Crochets Hats.  Either Hand Knitting or Machine knitting.  Join our fun Contest and win prizes.

We will be having another hat contest for 2010. All hats will be donated to the needy whether it be at the schools or at homeless shelters so all sizes and colors can be sent. They will be greatly appreciated.

This contests judging will be in mid November, 2010.

This is what I would like to do.  They don't have to be your own original pattern.  Make them colorful, make them plain, make them however you desire.  Any style, shape or color.  I do recommend acrylic yarn so they can be washed and dried easily.  Enter as many hats as you would like.  They can be hand knit, machine knit, crocheted, whatever method you like.  Let's make as many children and needy adults as warm as possible next winter.  Last year's hats went to some  elementary schools and other needy citizens.  You should have seen the happy faces on the children, especially when they found out they could keep them.  They were worn with pride.  You can send as many as you would like.

Send them to:

We have a challenge sponsored by Kathryn Doubrley.

I have decided to challenge myself to knit 100 hats for Linda's charity project this year. Mine will not be entered in the contest, just given to those in need.
I'll use this project to practice new techniques, both by hand and machine, and to reduce my crazy stash in a useful way. My goal is to have them done by the deadline date of November 1, 2010.

Would anyone like to join me? If you do make 100 hats by the contest deadline, I'll reward you with one of my patterns for free. The hats may be knitted by hand or machine or both. They need only be wearable, not perfect, so you can practice things that you want to learn, too. Any style is fine. I would love to see a photo of your pile of hats but will not be requiring solid proof. The honor system is in play. If you want to enter any of the hats you knit in the News and Views Contest, that is OK but please mark them stating that they are for the contest.

Cathie Sanders of Northtipton Creations has joined Kathryn and will also donate a pdf pattern to anyone that sends in 100 hats or more.

Make sure that you attach a piece of paper to your hat with your name, address, phone number and email address if you have one.  Hats need to be received here no later then November 1, 2010.
